The magic words in the world of Bran Hambric, known as Alvondir, can easily be read and written by following a special formula. After learning the formula, the magics in the book can be deciphered:
HOW TO WRITE IN ALVONDIR
1. Simplify the command and remove any suffixes (-ing, -ed).
Example: Drop spinning fire onto his head
Becomes: drop spin fire head
2. Move the last letter of each command to the second letter.
Example: drop spin fire head
Becomes: dpro snpi feir hdea
3. If this makes 2 consonants in a row at the beginning, add the letter ‘i’ between them.
Example: dpro snpi feir hdea
Becomes: dipro sinpi feir hidea
4. If this makes the word end with a consonant letter, follow the chart below to add a vowel:
| A | E | I | O | U |
| B | G | L | Q | V |
| C | H | M | R | W |
| D | J | N | S | X |
| F | K | P | T | Y |
| Z |
Example: dipro sinpi feir hidea
Becomes: dipro sinpi feiro hidea
